Terms and Conditions

Last Updated: 4 September 2026

Networking Habits is built around genuine relationships, useful introductions, professional respect, and conversations without the hard pitch.

These Terms of Use & Community Guidelines apply when you use the Networking Habits website, register for meetings, participate in community activities, enquire about membership, or access resources made available through the website.

1. Community Culture & Professional Conduct

Networking Habits is a relationship-first networking environment.

Attendees, guests, and members are expected to treat other participants with:

  • Professional courtesy
  • Mutual respect
  • Honesty
  • Good faith
  • Respect for personal boundaries

Networking Habits is not intended to be a mass-pitching environment.

Disruptive behaviour, harassment, fraud, abusive conduct, deliberate misrepresentation, or excessive unsolicited solicitation may result in removal from a meeting or restriction from future participation.

2. Meeting Format & Access

The weekly Monday meeting is hosted online.

Under the current format, the first hour is available free to registered guests.

The second hour and certain additional community benefits may be reserved for active members.

Meeting formats, schedules, speakers, availability, and access arrangements may change as the community develops.

Registration does not guarantee access to a specific participant, speaker, introduction, or opportunity.

3. Guest Participation

Guests may be invited to:

  • Introduce themselves and their business
  • Explain what they do
  • Share the type of connection they are looking for
  • Listen to other participants
  • Follow up with relevant people after the meeting

Guests are responsible for deciding what information they choose to share.

4. Membership

Membership may provide deeper access to Networking Habits, including benefits such as:

  • Member-only meeting access
  • Additional community participation
  • Recurring relationship-building opportunities
  • Introductions or referrals where appropriate
  • Guest speakers or business insights
  • Other benefits communicated at the time of membership

Submitting a membership enquiry does not create a membership agreement.

Any membership fees, billing arrangements, renewal terms, cancellation terms, or additional conditions will be provided before a paid membership is completed.

5. No Guaranteed Commercial Outcomes

Networking Habits and Ian Tolson may facilitate introductions, networking opportunities, conversations, and business insights in good faith.

However, participation does not guarantee:

  • Leads
  • Referrals
  • Customers
  • Sales
  • Revenue
  • Contracts
  • Partnerships
  • Investments
  • Employment
  • Business growth
  • Specific introductions

Networking creates opportunities for relationships. What happens after an introduction depends on the people involved.

Any fees, billing terms, cancellation terms, or additional membership conditions will be communicated separately where applicable.

6. Introductions & Referrals

Ian Tolson or Networking Habits may introduce participants who appear to have a useful reason to connect.

An introduction does not mean that Networking Habits or Ian:

  • Guarantees either party
  • Endorses a person’s business
  • Certifies their qualifications
  • Guarantees the quality of their products or services
  • Accepts responsibility for agreements made between participants

Participants are responsible for conducting their own due diligence before entering into a business relationship.

7. Agreements Between Participants

Networking Habits provides an environment for people to meet.

Any transaction, service agreement, referral arrangement, partnership, employment agreement, investment, purchase, or other commercial relationship entered into between participants is between those parties.

Networking Habits and Ian Tolson are not automatically parties to those agreements.

8. Participant Responsibility

You are responsible for evaluating:

  • Who you choose to work with
  • Information provided by another participant
  • Products or services offered by another participant
  • Commercial opportunities
  • Contracts
  • Financial decisions
  • Information you choose to disclose

You should obtain independent professional advice where appropriate.

9. Prohibited Behaviour

You may not use the website, meetings, or Networking Habits community to:

  • Harass or threaten another person
  • Discriminate against participants
  • Engage in fraudulent activity
  • Misrepresent yourself, your business, qualifications, or services
  • Distribute malware or harmful content
  • Send excessive unwanted marketing
  • Illegally collect participant information
  • Violate another participant’s privacy
  • Impersonate another person
  • Deliberately disrupt meetings or community activities

Networking Habits may restrict participation where reasonably necessary to protect the community.

10. Recording & Privacy During Meetings

Participants should respect the privacy of others during meetings.

Private conversations should not be recorded or distributed without appropriate permission.

Information shared voluntarily in open meeting discussions or networking chats should still be treated with professional respect.

11. Books, Downloads & Other Content

Technical failures, hosting issues, Zoom outages, maintenance, or circumstances outside reasonable control may occasionally affect access.

15. Informational Content

It should not automatically be treated as legal, financial, tax, investment, medical, or other regulated professional advice.

Where professional advice is required, you should consult an appropriately qualified professional.

16. Limitation of Responsibility

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Networking Habits and Ian Tolson are not responsible for losses arising solely from:

  • A participant’s conduct
  • A failed business relationship
  • A missed opportunity
  • Information supplied by another participant
  • A third-party product or service
  • Decisions made following a networking introduction
  • Third-party websites or platforms

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude responsibility that cannot legally be excluded.

17. Suspension or Removal

A guest or member may be removed from meetings or community access where reasonably necessary because of:

  • Serious misconduct
  • Harassment
  • Fraud
  • Abuse
  • Repeated disruption
  • Security concerns
  • Material breach of these Terms
  • Non-payment of an applicable membership fee

The purpose of this provision is to protect the quality and integrity of the Networking Habits community.

18. Privacy
